About the Journal
Focus and Reach
IMMÓVIL is an academic journal for film studios. In it, research on cinematographic language is published, in all professional areas of cinema (Direction, Photography, Sound, Acting, Art Direction, Production, etc.), in addition to studies on pedagogy for cinema and the challenge that teaching and artistic training faces.
The magazine has monographic issues and is published every six months. The articles published in the issues are: Academic articles, critical essays, reviews, interviews and other studies and research.
INMOVIL also incorporates interactive links in its pdfs to accompany its texts with videos, audio tracks and other sources, with the purpose of expanding the information of the articles, and direct the reader to the books, films, authors that are mentioned in each of their articles.
Peer review process
INMÓVIL has internal and external evaluators for peer review. These are university professors with third level degrees or higher whose main objects of study are cinema, literature, photography, theater and artistic languages in general. The evaluators are also, in most cases, professional filmmakers.
The number of regular reviewers is 3, two from INCINE and one external reviewer from other national and international educational institutions with which INCINE has agreements or collaborations. Among them: The Simón Bolivar Andean University, the ESCAC of Barcelona, the INSAS of Belgium, the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires.
