Abstract

Sound and music play a fundamental role in human life. Exposure to auditory stimuli is constant, as humans cannot voluntarily block auditory input. As a result, individuals are continuously influenced by the acoustic environment throughout their entire lives.


The effects of sound and music on humans can be broadly categorized into three primary areas of influence: physical, cerebral, and mental.


In the physical domain, vibrational energy — whether within or beyond the audible range — interacts with the human body, potentially impacting organs, joints, and bones in both beneficial and detrimental ways.


In the cerebral domain, specific sound frequencies can modulate brain wave activity, thereby influencing emotional states and cognitive functioning.


In the mental domain, complex combinations of sound and music can evoke memories, trigger emotional responses, and reactivate experiential patterns that were essential for human survival during early evolutionary stages.Due to the largely unconscious nature of these processes, individuals often experience emotional shifts without a clear or identifiable source. This intrinsic vulnerability enables practitioners and professionals in the fields of sound and music to influence audience perceptions, emotions, and cognitive responses.
