Abstract

Nowadays, animation is regaining strength with an immense amount of changes in narrative, style, technique and projection. Latin America after several years seems hardly to belong to this current, resonate a couple of projects, directors and studies; however, it is necessary to intensify our presence. Rethinking the workflow, considering new and more accessible technologies, reflecting the problems and the history of animation can be key to show to the world and perhaps more important to convince ourselves that in Latin America we can make quality and sustainable animation.

Germán Ismael Coronel Gutiérrez, Independent author

Film and animation director. He has developed edition and animation projects for advertising, short films, feature films and videogames. He is currently writing the screenplay of his live action ópera prima, directing animated feature film “Terre y Moto” and on production of the videogame “The book of Naro” for Nintendo Switch console. Today he is teaching Storyboard, Character design, Environment design and Experimental Project on INCINE.
