Abstract

The remake is an increasingly recurring cinematographic practice, particularly in Hollywood. Academic and cultural media are frequently skeptical of this type of film and doubt its creative and narrative quality. In this article we will research the historical and cultural value of remakes as a possibility for memory through a structuralist and poststructuralist analysis that allows us to see its origin and function. In addition, the investigation will propose a new place for the public and criticism to confront this phenomenon.

He has a master's degree in scriptwriting with a specialization in fiction from the San Antonio de los Baños International School of Film and Television. He is currently a teacher at the Instituto Metropolitano de Diseño and at INCINE, Creative Director of Cuervofilms C.L. and communication advisor for public and private institutions.
