Abstract

The Poetic of the Weak analyzes and compares the theater of Anton Chekhov with the cinematographic work of Woody Allen in order to describe a non-Aristotelian structure in cinema. For this article, the works of study are The three sisters, Interiors and Hannah and her sisters. And among the three, it is possible to discover a poetic with its own characteristics such as the error, the unstable balance and the multiplicity of action units. Also described as a mosaic or painting of life, Chekhovian poetics also delves into the weakness and compassionate possibilities of its characters.
